F.A.Q.

Do you sell prints?

Yes! It's actually a huge part of our business. We offer a variety of materials such as Standout, Metal and  Paper Prints. Our paper prints need some sort of framing in order to hang on a wall. If you would like to order any prints of our images please contact us since we don't have an online store set up at this time.

What Gear and Equipment do you normally use?

We both use Nikon D850's for our photography and a Sony A7III for video. We also use a Nikon D810 as a backup camera and for underwater photography. The high resolution of the D850 pulls in great detail in our images and the sensor is phenomenal in low light.

Here is our full list of gear:

Nikon D850, Nikon D810, Sony A7III

Lens's for Nikon: 16-35mm f/4, 15-30mm f2.8, 24-70mm f/2.8, 70-200mm f/2.8

How did you get started with photography?

Matt first got started with photography going into his senior year of high school, which was the summer of 2013. He started taking landscape photos of the moon and sunset scenes around Central Minnesota and started dabbling with portrait photography. His passion to interact and meet with people helped his career grow as a photographer. In 2016 he photographed a barn with northern lights dancing over it, which was published by USA Today. That photograph put his name out across the country. In 2017 he had another northern lights image with an old farm truck get published by National Geographic. He went on to have two other images published online on the National Geographic website. By 2018 Matt was ready to take things to another level, and he began traveling across the country. He went to Hawaii, the west coast of the USA and the Southwest. Following those trips Matt knew he wanted to continue to travel and document the world through his eyes and share his vision with others. Both Matt and Sarah still do portrait photography to this day, but are expanding to work with other companies around the USA and travel around the world.

Sarah's photography journey began after she graduated from high school. She didn't know what she wanted to go on to college for. She got contacts at the age of 18 and was able to see the details in everything around her. One day out of the blue she decided that she wanted to be a photographer. She did a lot of research and online schooling. Following that she did photography for friends and family. In a short period of time she grew her business to expand from Central Wisconsin to Southern Wisconsin. Her favorite type of photography is portrait and wedding photography, but she also enjoys doing landscape photography with a person in the scene since she likes the challenge of photographing people in a creative way. Sarah's traveling began in 2015 when she went to China for her first time. That experience opened her eyes to seeing how amazing the world is and seeing different cultures. From that point on she got the travel bug and knew she wanted to explore other countries.

Could you describe one of your typical workdays for me? How many hours do you work in a typical week?

We have two "seasons" of work. The summer/fall months and the winter/spring months. In summer and fall we work anywhere from 40-80 hours per week. In winter/spring we work anywhere from 5-25 hours per week. Since we are doing most of our portrait photography in the summer and fall months, we usually begin the day with editing for a few hours until our photography sessions begin in the afternoon and evening. Once the sun sets, we get back, transfer photos, and begin editing again until we go to bed. It may sound like a lot of work to do day after day, but by working long days for part of the year we gain freedom to work minimally in the winter and spring months, which is our main time to travel. When we are on the road we still do portrait photography sessions in different states for those that are interested in it, but we also work with a few companies.

What is your favorite place that you've traveled to?

Iceland! That's a very easy question for us to answer. Iceland has it all... the mountains, glaciers, volcanoes and endless waterfalls. There are so many beautiful scenes compacted into the small country. We will definitely be exploring it more and trying new experiences while we are there. Iceland is actually the reason why we, Matt & Sarah, met. But that story is for another time :)

Future goals or projects?

Each year is always different for us since we are business owners. We never know what to expect year to year, but we always continue to dream of the future. One big goal we have is to do portrait photography across the USA full time and have the flexibility to travel all over the USA at any time of year. We also want to do a lot more out of country traveling. Since Covid-19 began, we were very limited to where we could go. In 2022 we left the USA for the first time in almost 3 years. We went back to Canada for part of June and July, and in August we flew to Iceland. Over time we would love to create a book of our photographs and travel stories to share with others in hopes that they will be inspired just like we were when our travels began. We also hope to work with more companies through our travels and meet fellow travelers to share experiences with.
